Hara Karate

Hara Karate was formed in 2000 and is based in Basildon, Essex and welcomes anyone who wishes to train to come along, irrespective of fitness or experience level.

New students will be monitored on fitness and stamina in the interests of continued well being and improvement, and should not feel that they cannot train on the grounds of fitness level – age or weight.

We would encourage our new students to make the Sensei (teacher) aware of any medical conditions or injuries/disabilities that they might suffer from to ensure that a safe level of training is maintained.

Martial Arts are all about improving the individual and not a direct competition to be better than your fellow students. Personal fitness and flexibility will be the reward of regular training whatever your age, weight or fitness level and can lead to a longer and more active life in later years.

Remember – rarely too early or late to begin a training routine – come along and give it a try.

This academy practices the style of karate called Hara (Inner spirit, strength, balance and energy)

Hara academy, although a relatively recent style of karate, still maintains traditional values such as discipline, respect etc.

The karate that you will practice has been influenced by several systems of martial arts; Shotokan, Wado Ryu, Goju Ryu, Tai Chi etc.

Hara Academy is a member of the Combined school of Martial Arts and in turn is licensed by the governing body for martial arts in this country, the British National Martial Arts Association (BNMAA).
